Stay
Located just 2 minutes from our venue, Glen Oaks Big Sur is a cozy and scenic spot nestled under the redwoods.
Please note: While there are other lodging options nearby, Glen Oaks Big Sur is the only accommodation that will offer shuttle transportation to and from the venue.
A room block has been held at Glen Oaks Big Sur for your ease. To reserve a room under our block, please book by TBD date and mention the Mahoney/Urban Wedding. Availability is limited and books very quickly outside of our block, so we encourage calling sooner rather than later.
A mix of rooms and cabins have been held. All standard rooms are included in the block, but if there is a specific cabin you would like to book outside of those held, please reach out to the Bride to coordinate with the lodge.
Airports
01.
Monterey Regional Airport (MRY)
200 Fred Kane Drive
Monterey, California 93940
The closest airport to Big Sur and just about a 45 minute drive away, but trust us, it’s one of the most beautiful drives you will ever take with cliffside coastlines, towering redwoods, and rolling green hills.
02.
San Francisco International Airport (SFO)
San Francisco, California 94128
While the drive into Big Sur is longer, at around 3 hours, flying into San Francisco offers a wide range of flight options. If you don’t mind the extra time on the road, take the coastal route down Highway 1 to pass iconic sights like Half Moon Bay, TBD.
Transportation
Ride-share services such as Uber and Lyft are not readily available in Big Sur due to its remote location, and cell service can be spotty in many areas.
We highly recommend renting a car so you can explore the scenic surroundings and take full advantage of everything this special part of California has to offer.
Camping & Road Trip Recommendations
For our California-based family and friends making a road trip out of the weekend, the coast is filled with some of our favorite stops, and some of our best memories.
01.
Morro Bay
No drive up the coast is complete without a stop at Giovanni’s Fish Market for seafood, a stroll around Morro Rock (the giant one, you can’t miss it!) to stretch your legs, and if you’re camping, a stay at Montana de Oro State Park.
02.
Cambria
Home to one of our favorite slices of pie at Linn’s and the quaint Moonstone Beach, where boutique inns line the coast.
03.
San Simeon
One of our favorite campsites, San Simeon Creek Campground, overlooks the vast valley of the Santa Lucia Mountains and is just minutes away from the iconic Hearst Castle where you can step back into time with a tour for just $35.
